No. In fact using heat with our fill sticks could result in severe burns. You need only rub the fill stick into the repair. The heat create by friction will be enough to fill the damage.

Not really, because they are wax, they pretty much maintain the same hardness from when you apply them to a year or more later. In high traffic areas, we suggest to top coat your repair with Trade Secret Pro Finish or another type of coating to avoid pulling out the repair or colouring clothing.

Rub the fill stick into the repair. Then using a credit card or other similar products, remove the excess. And wax that remains around the repair can be rubbed off with a clean cloth taking care not to touch the repair. If needed, top coat with Trade Secret Crystal Clear Pro Finish.

We are often asked what makes our Fill Sticks better than those of the competition. Well, we offer Trade Secret Fill Sticks in a variety of packages; we have singles for white and black, trios for our wood tones and even a 6 pack Pro Set. Our competitors, for the most part, only offer single sticks, which makes it more difficult to obtain the correct colour. Our Fill Sticks are wax based with colourfast dyes and can be immediately top coated (i.e. finished or painted) leaving you with a permanent repair without having to wait for the repair to dry. Our competitors sticks are putty based, which is a greasy texture and cannot be top coated and are therefore less permanent and versatile. Finally our Fill Sticks are used by manufacturers across North America. Our competitor’s sticks are not usually used in professional environments.

Yes. The Fill Stick can be used on almost all surfaces.

In most cases, Fill Stick repairs can be removed using a rigid plastic spatula or even a plastic credit card type edge.  In order to remove the wax residue, products such as mineral spirits and/or fine abrasives (e.g. Scotch Brite or Magic Eraser) should do the trick.  Always test first in an inconspicuous area and this could damage weaker or already compromised finishes.
